The new Tortus 3 coefficient of friction meter is the latest version of the original BCRA instrument.
The Tortus 3 is a microprocessor-controlled, self-propelled precision instrument that directly measures the dynamic coefficient of friction by gliding over surfaces or pedestrian-used flooring.
It provides an instantaneous reading of the coefficient of friction on a digital display as it moves across the surface, and displays the average μ value at the end of the test.
